چکیده

An analysis is made for transient Magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow of two immiscible fluids thorough a horizontal channel. The flow above the interface is assumed to be electrically conducting while the other fluid and the channel walls are assumed to be electrically insulating. The partial differential equations governing the flow are solved analytically using two-term periodic and non-periodic functions in both the regions of the channels. Velocity profiles are analyzed for various physical parameters such as viscosity ratio, frequency parameter and Hartmann number. Keywords– Magnetohydrodynamic, immiscible fluids, Unsteady flow, horizontal channel

MHD Two-Fluid Flow and Heat Transfer between Two Inclined Parallel Plates in a Rotating System

Two-phase magnetohydrodynamic convective flow of electrically conducting fluid through an inclined channel is studied under the action of a constant transverse magnetic field in a rotating system. The fluids in the two phases are steady, incompressible, laminar, immiscible, and electrically conducting, having different densities, viscosities, and thermal and electrical conductivities. The trans...

Magnetohydrodynamic mixed convection effects on the removal process of fluid particles from an open cavity in a horizontal channel

This paper presents the results of a numerical study on the heat transfer performance and the removal process of fluid particles under the influence of magnetohydrodynamic mixed convection in a horizontal channel with an open cavity. The bottom wall of the cavity is heated at a constant temperature (Th) while the top wall of the channel is maintained at a relatively low temperature (Tc). Air wi...

Analysis of Pseudo-Turbulence Flow Induced by Bubble Periodic Formation in Non-Newtonian Fluids

Laser Doppler Velocimetry (LDV) has been employed to determine pseudo-turbulence characteristics of the flow field around bubble train forming in non-Newtonian caboxymethylcellulose (CMC) aqueous solution at low gas flow rate condition. The Reynolds stress and turbulent intensity of the liquid were investigated by means of Reynolds time-averaged method. The experimental results show that ax...
